National cooperation
In the Netherlands, we work together with a large number of cooperation partners. Some of those collaborations have been laid down in protocols.
On this page:
Regulators
We frequently work together with other regulators. Cooperation with these regulators is important for exchanging knowledge and experiences.
Consultation Forum of Regulatory Bodies (MTB)
Since 2009, we have worked together with seven other regulators in the ‘Consultation Forum of Regulatory Bodies (MTB):
- The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM)
- The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP)
- Financial Supervision Office (BFT)
- The Dutch Media Authority (CvdM)
- The Dutch central bank (DNB)
- The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSa)
- The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa)
Digital Regulation Cooperation Platform (SDT)
Since 2021, we have worked with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP), the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), and the Dutch Media Authority (CvdM) in the ‘Digital Regulation Cooperation Platform (SDT). In this way, we strengthen oversight of digital activities by intensifying cooperation.
The SDT regulators make sure that their respective regulatory activities are well-aligned if these involve digital services. That is because technological innovations and online services have a significant impact on our society and economy. The SDT wishes to understand, study, and address the risks in the digital society, while also taking advantage of the opportunities thereof. In that context, the SDT takes in account different public interests.
Ministries
The Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) is the most important ministry for ACM. That is because this ministry is politically responsible for most of the laws we enforce. We also work together with the following ministries:
- Infrastructure and the Environment (IenW)
- Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS)
- Education, Culture and Science (OCW)
- Finance
